Psychological and neurocognitive testing is utilized in trauma and post–traumatic brain injury cases when symptoms are complex, overlapping, or not fully explained by imaging findings or self-report alone.
In personal injury contexts, testing may help clarify the presence and severity of cognitive and psychological changes following injury and support interdisciplinary understanding of functional impact.
What the Neurocognitive Evaluation Includes
Neurocognitive evaluations focus on the objective measurement of neurological and cognitive functioning using standardized assessment instruments selected based on referral questions and clinical presentation. Common evaluations include:

Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive a brief set of instructions to help you prepare for the neuropsychological evaluation. before your appointment to ensure everything is properly set up.

First, you will complete a clinical interview, to better understand your history, symptoms, and concerns. These clinical interviews are completed online through Zoom. Next, you will complete a series of tests that measure a range of cognitive functions, including memory, language, and attention. These tests are non-invasive and will be completed online.

Most patients can expect to receive their test results within 7-10 business days following their appointment. Results will be shared during a feedback session, either through video or a voice call. This session will focus on reviewing your test outcomes, discussing any diagnoses, and providing recommendations for further treatment. Some of these recommendations may involve services offered by us, while others might suggest resources in the broader community. You are free to decide which recommendations to pursue.
A written report of your results will be provided upon request. You are welcome to keep the report for your records or share it with your other care providers. We will only send your report to third parties with your explicit written consent.
