In addition to private practice, I have provided mental and behavioral health services in integrated care settings, including Family Medicine at UC San Diego Health and the Behavioral Health Center at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. These experiences strengthened my understanding of the important relationship between emotional and physical health, particularly in the areas of trauma, stress, chronic pain, and relationship functioning.
I have also taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Child Development, Family Science, and Couple and Family Therapy at California State University, Long Beach, University of San Diego, and Florida State University. I am an Approved Supervisor through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and regularly provide clinical supervision and professional development to individuals pursuing advanced training and licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), and Licensed Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC).
My research focuses on mindfulness, close relationships, and emotional well-being, with scholarly work published in peer-reviewed journals including Mindfulness and Journal of Marital and Family Therapy, including one study recognized as a “Top Cited Article in 2021–2022.”
